two short moody poems

[Today was a travel day where I couldn’t sit down to write a proper piece. Instead, I transmuted some bad feelings into “poetic bits”, one of which grew into a poem, which I decided to use as today’s microblog.]

my spirit animal is a sick old dog
wandering the streets alone at midnight
howling at the Gods

as if they could hear it
as if they’d do anything if they could hear

save our souls
save our souls
sick, old, like a dog
limping on a leg that will not heal

zero zero : zero zero
sadgirl hours
crying from the cheap airbnb

I keep pushing up the ball
it insists on rolling downhill

mayday mayday
I keep waiting for the Gods to smile
but it feels like they’ve disowned me
