more people should try more (benign) supplements
[This is day #27 of my 30-day microblogging challenge. You can and should still join!]
I often think about this one Tumblr post/tweet that says:

I think people who don’t feel at their 100% should experiment more. There are many vitamins and supplements that can be tried for a week or a month with few or no side effects, which, for the right person (or someone with deficiencies), could be life-changing.
Here are some examples:
- Vitamin D (especially for those living in areas with low sun exposure)
- Vitamin B12 (essential for vegans and beneficial for vegetarians)
- Iron can help with fatigue in women, especially vegetarians
- Vitamin C
Others nutrients that can have positive effects even if they are not related to deficiencies:
- Creatine (has a stronger effect on vegetarians and vegans)
- Magnesium (for migraines, stress, anxiety – glycinate is better for GI effects)
- NAC (mood, OCD, rumination, addiction)
- Ashwagandha (stress/cortisol)
Remember to always do your own research and not make health decisions based on someone’s advice on the internet (me in this case). Yet I hope this post can offer some good pointers!
Personally, “multivitamins are the only superstition I will allow in my life”.
